I agree with most everything said (take your pick on the throttle thing, I think I'd do the teaspoon of oil in the spark-plug), but add the following:
1. After adding Sta-bil, ensure you run the bike for a little while.... you need to work the Sta-bil down into the lines/guts of the bike.
2. Make sure you store the bike with a full gas tank (so no condensation develops inside it. Water in engine = bad.
3. Draining the carb should should be easy: there is a drain tube on the bottom of the carb for just that purpose (looks like a tube headed straight down- slightly tapered from top to bottom). There is a little screw next to its proximate end (on the carb) (can't remember which side) which is essentially an on/off flow valve. Put a spray paint can top (or other small bowl) underneath it to catch the fuel, and turn the screw..... voila, the float bowl empties out. As long as your petcock isn't set on "prime," and providing that you have a functional vacuum tube, no gas should refill the bowl. And any rsidue elsewhere should have some Sta-bil mixed in so it shouldn't be an issue.
(Then again..... "couldn't you get condensation in the float bowl ?!?!?!?!" I dunno.....)
KTRSD (and your gas dry!!!!!)
